The CMGVRW trainers have successfully implemented the MEDIATION4ROMA training program in Brussels, Belgium. On the 16th, 17th and 18th of September, the face-to-face sessions gathered people of various backgrounds: members of the Roma community, Travelers, men, women, natural mediators (volunteers) and employed mediators. The diversity inherent to this group turned out to be a particularly enriching factor throughout the training and the many interactions that arose from it.
In the first weeks of July, in Rome, it held the first part of the training of the European project VET4ROMA. 30 mediators who work with Roma communities in the city of Rome, particpated to the training organized by Arci Solidarietà.
The training topics are the active listen and good communication, the intercultural mediation and the mediation with the Roma communities.
In particular, Italy focuses the training on the current situation about Roma camps and above all on the Schooling Project for Roma children and adolescents, in which the organization has been working for 20 years and in which project work the mayority of social workers trained.
All the Mediation4Roma Consortium was working in a face to face meeting the past 26th and 27th of June. In the meeting all the members were designing the basic schedule of next months, discussing on the currently underway work packages and making agreements and assuming new compromises.
